Client

Accushield

Year

2023

Scope of Work

Lead Design | Art Direction | Illustration | UX/UI

Location

Redesigning our flagship product - an entry management kiosk.

Need

Accushield’s Kiosk is its flagship product, generating over $7.2 million annually and serving as the company’s core. Positioned at the entrance of facilities, the kiosk leverages facial recognition and other unique identifiers to screen entrants, maintaining a real-time record of everyone in the building—a critical feature for healthcare settings. Currently, the kiosk’s design feels clinical and lacks depth. This redesign aims to bring personality and vibrancy to the kiosk while retaining familiar elements from the existing design to ensure a seamless experience for users.

Emma Jones

Registered Nurse at Valley View Assisted Living

Sally loves her patients, but hates doing paper work. She want's more time to care for her people rather that stare at a computer.

Pearl Simon

Resident at Valley View Assisted Living

Pearl has been a resident at Valley View for around five years now.

She values safety and security, so she hopes that everyone that comes into her home is screened. Pearl also suffers from various health issues, so she can easily catch a cold. She would love for anyone that comes into her facility to go through a health-screening and have their up-to-date vaccinations.

Pearl also needs an easy way to sign in and out of her facility to ensure that she is accounted for. She wants Valley View to feel like a home, and not a facility.

The Home Screen
Previously, the Accushield home screen—though accessible—lacked branding and personality. As the face of the company, it's essential that this screen not only upholds key design characteristics and accessibility but also brings a sense of energy and warmth to accurately reflect Accushield’s identity.

Before & After Comparison

Our previous kiosk screen was functional and up to ADA standards.

After my own analysis and hearing a want for more fun from customers, stakeholders, and founders, I decided to initiate this project.

Early iterations and the evolution of where our sign in and sign out buttons could live.

Conclusion

After presenting this design and concept to stakeholders and founders, it was received extremely well. It is now in development.
